Two doctors at Pune’s Sassoon Hospital have been detained by the Maharashtra police on charges of falsifying the blood report of a 17-year-old who was engaged in a car accident in Kalyani Nagar on May 19 that claimed the lives of two software workers riding motorbikes.

Following the fatal Porsche vehicle incident, the accused adolescent was brought to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination. Later, Amitesh Kumar, the Commissioner of Pune Police, claimed that the juvenile’s blood sample was discarded and was substituted with someone else’s.

Following the discovery that the accused minor’s blood samples had been exchanged for someone else’s to create a fictitious negative alcohol result, the arrests were made.

There was no alcohol in the minor’s system, according to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report on his first blood sample; however, the results of the second blood report suggested otherwise. This made others question the reliability of the initial report. Following the confirmation via DNA testing that the two samples came from distinct people, police began to assume that doctors at the government hospital had tampered with the evidence.
