A 21-year-old tribal woman was allegedly paraded naked in a village in the Pratapgarh district by her husband and in-laws, according to a video of another episode of violence against women that was seen in Rajasthan.

As the incident video went viral on social media, Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister, responded to the incident on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “In Pratapgarh district, a video of a woman being stripped naked by her in-laws due to some family dispute has surfaced.” The Director General of Police has been instructed to send ADG Crime on the spot and take strict action in this matter. There is no place for such criminals in a civilized society. These criminals will be put behind bars as soon as possible and punished after being prosecuted in a fast-track court.

According to the district chief of police, Amit Kumar, three people were detained on Saturday in relation to the incident, including the woman’s husband.

The accused is currently receiving medical attention at Pratapgarh Hospital before being brought before the court, according to the police, who claim that they attempted to escape after seeing the police and were hurt.

The incident occurred on Thursday, said Dhariyawad SHO Peshawar Khan, who also noted that during the initial investigation, it was revealed that the woman was in a relationship with another man.

Umesh Mishra, Director General of Police (DGP), also said that she was abducted by her in-laws and taken to her village, where this incident took place.

As Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot responded to the incident on Twitter, the previous Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje added that the incident had caused the state of Rajasthan to bow its head. Additionally, she charged that the state’s administration did not do enough to stop crimes against women.
